The Hippodrome, London
Whilst working for Alan Baxter Ltd, Tom Roberts led the structural engineering design of the restoration of this much neglected theatre on Leicester Square, and its conversion into a casino. Works included erecting two new five storey buildings within the existing structure and restoring the ceiling which had been removed in 1957 following a partial collapse. Since the works were completed, further projects on the building have included the extension of the external terraces and alterations to the stage to incorporate the requirements necessary for live performances from hit shows such as Magic Mike Live.
